His black and white images take us into the troubled and fragile world of teenagers and children. Ji Yeo

'Draw on me' series

'Draw on me' and 'Beauty recovery room' two series with a similar message by Ji Yeo. She is based in Brooklyn where she pursued her master's degree in photography, after graduating from Seoul's  National University. Seoul, South Korea that is.
Whatever way you look at it, it is disturbing that people believe in a way of live that put looks above character. And we fall into the trap of the advertising media enforcing this way of life endlessly.
Ji Yeo states; "Plastic surgery has become an integral part of Korea’s current culture, often regarded as a integral step in the in self improvement process. Going under the knife, enduring bruises, scars, and being under general anesthetic several times are no longer considered risky or extravagant."
The 'Beauty recovery room' pictures Twere taken directly after their operation while they were resting and waiting to be healed. read Ji Yeo's statement here.
