This American photographer stirred up quite some commotion during his career. Most of us came in contact with his work, willingly or not. Working with corpses, body part and outsider models he produces strong images leaving an everlasting impression. In the film / documentary "An objective eye" Joel-Peter Witkin explains the why and how of his distinctive oeuvre.

Eikoh Hosoe

Butoh dancer Kazuo Ohno

Born in 1933, Eikoh Hosoe grows to fame in the post-war experimental movement in Japan. Eikoh Hosoe's image often explores death and erotic obsession. He is closely linked to writer Yukio Mishima and dancer Tatsumi Hijikata.
