Living and working in New York, Monica Cook was born in Dalton, Georgia. Her paintings look a bit revolting and grotesque at first, and that may be part of her art. There is a lot of shameless behavior, naked, squirming bodies and well defined slime, but most of all there is the glazed eyes and the translucent shiny skin. Sweaty, bruised, disturbing and fascinating at the same time.
